Five Critical Experiences
For two decades, University Honors at Virginia Tech has been designed to provide an array of choices for students of exceptional abilities. University Honors exists to inspire and facilitate an extra-ordinary education for our students. Over the years, we have come to understand excellence, broadly speaking, as being comprised of five critical experiences:
- Meaningful and sustained relationships with faculty
- Intellectual engagement with the world beyond classroom walls
- Independent learning opportunities
- Education abroad
- Undergraduate Research
We consider the classroom as a launching pad for involvement in the other avenues of Honors including undergraduate research, international travel experiences, varied cultural opportunities, selected collegiums, beneficial community service projects, key instruction for internationally competitive scholarships and interaction with some of the other great minds that comprise this exceptional program.
